Cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping

What is the difference between catch-up bookkeeping and cleanup?

Catch-up bookkeeping brings overdue periods current by recording and organizing missing activity. Cleanup corrects issues in existing records, such as duplicate transactions, incorrect categories, or unreconciled balances. A project can require both.

What if I don’t know what’s wrong with my books?

Start with what you’ve noticed: reports that don’t look right, balances that don’t match, or months that haven’t been reviewed. We can discuss the situation and identify what needs a closer look.

Do I need to clean up my records before contacting you?

No. You can reach out before organizing everything. Once we understand the situation, we’ll explain which statements and supporting records are needed.

How much does QuickBooks Online cleanup cost?

Catch-up work starts at $250 per month behind. Your quote depends on transaction volume, number of accounts, condition of the books, and corrections needed. We agree on scope and price before work begins. See cleanup pricing.

How long will my cleanup take?

Timing depends on the period being cleaned up, complexity, and availability of records. We discuss expected timing when we scope the work. Tell us about any CPA, financing, or other deadline during the initial conversation.

Do you work with software other than QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online is our preferred platform. If you use something else, tell us which system so we can discuss whether the project is a fit.

Monthly support and pricing

Can you keep my books current after the cleanup?

Yes. Monthly bookkeeping can include transaction categorization, reconciliations, a consistent month-end close, and financial statements. The agreed plan determines your scope. Explore ongoing bookkeeping services.

How is monthly pricing determined?

Pricing reflects transaction volume, accounts, and complexity. The published ranges are Essentials at $95–$200, Professional at $300–$600, and Controller at $700–$1,500 per month. Your final rate is confirmed after reviewing your needs. Compare plan details.

Is cleanup included in the monthly plan?

Cleanup and catch-up work are priced separately from monthly bookkeeping. Your quote identifies the initial project and any ongoing services.

Do you require a long-term contract?

Monthly engagements are month-to-month. Your agreement will explain the scope and any notice or transition requirements.
